The last day of my senior year of high school I was in the biology lab trying to pass a final exam so that I could get a D in the class and graduate with the rest of my class.
I only went to the local community college because that is where all the boys were from the neighboring schools…. And I only made it one semester.
When I first started real estate, I felt very INTIMIDATED. It seemed everyone was SMARTER than me or knew more than me and I felt overwhelmed with all there was to learn.
I signed up for every class, workshop, conference I could find and attended them.
My goal at everything I attended was to get ONE great thing I could use and implement into my business.
Every day I would work on one little piece, one process, one system, one aspect of my business that could improve it.
Checklists… Systems… processes… oh my!
I had no idea where it would go or what it would look like but I did it… every day.
What does it look like now? 23 years later… 3500 families served… working part time… taking vacations….
It looks pretty dang cool.
So I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed… but I GET THE JOB DONE!
