Stick with me on this story… It’s important.
I want to tell you about MasterClass Member and who happens to be my sister… Susan.
I will start by saying as far back as I can remember, she has been the hardest working person I have ever met.
She always worked the tough jobs too, like for a moving company and she was the one actually packing and moving people and I think she weighed about 100 pounds.
She worked for many years as well in the bakery of a major grocery store.
Then one day she happened to be at my house having coffee before an interview at Home Depot and I said why don’t you come work with me?
Her first reaction was “I can never do sales, I’m not a salesperson.
I said you don’t have to be but you can be my assistant for a while and see how you like it.
Now I will tell you that Susan lives about an hour away from me and for THREE years she commuted every day at least an hour each way and was always the first one at the office and the last one to leave.
She made it a point to figure out every single job we had within the company and worked her way up to the General Manager of our brokerage.
I even laughed one day, when she was helping out in the transaction management department and she was complaining about how awful many of the agents on the other side were…
WHY ARE YOU NOT IN SALES? Do you really want the people you care about to work with one of those awful agents?
Her answer… No I don’t…. I want to make sure they are well taken care of… but I am not a Sales Person!
Fast forward to 15 months later…. Susan has closed a little over $5,000,000 in real estate.
Her response… Real Estate is about SERVICE not about SALES!
