I was raised by a single mom. I remember my mom getting up before us, making breakfast, making us lunches, doing laundry, cleaning house, getting us out the door and off to school…

All before she got dressed and went off to work.

This was before cell phones and technology. This was before junk food and fast food restaurants. In fact she never bought any of that because it was too expensive and we lived on a very limited budget.

My mom was also the local flop house for friends that needed a couch to crash on. Always had extra people at the dinner table and she volunteered with countless organizations to empower and support women.

I remember her telling me countless times the importance of an education and job skills so that I could always take care of myself and be in charge of my own destiny.

She raised me to be strong, confident, independent and mostly to be kind and do what I could to give back and support those who had less than me. She taught me to be the woman I am today…

And while she is now smiling down from heaven, I know that she worked harder than I realized… did more than I expected… taught me to a million things that I wish I had thanked her more for…

So in honor of International Women’s Day I salute the many women who have not only been guests on my Podcast at Real Estate Real World but for what we as women do EVERY DAY to keep our families, friends, people we care about and mostly ourselves strong, capable and beautiful.

Listen in to just a few of these great women talk about their lives and businesses.

And I would love to hear your stories about the women in your life…

Warmly,

Marguerite
